![]() ![]() I have a 450H John Deere dozer serial number HX901175. 8With engine speed control at low idle remove your foot from the decelerator slowly move the engine speed control to fast idle and hold there till 4E goes out. If you find out that your PTO is actually stopping, then I'd suspect a stripped splined coupler between the reverser and trans. I have a jd 450h dozer it will go ahead and back but wont steer. ![]() Sheared rivets on the ring gear can do it and might be the first place I'd look for a problem that came on suddenly. If you are sure the PTO turns in a "no move" situation, the problem has to be in the gear transmission, rear ring and pinion drive, or the steering clutches/final drives. If the reverser is not transmitting power, the PTO cannot work. So, if the crawler will not move, and the PTO IS turning at the same time, the problem cannot be the reverser. That PTO runs off the output shaft of the reverser. Thanks, Joeĭid you look to see if that PTO keeps turning when you actually try to make the crawler move? Thanks in advance with any information you can give me. Any ideas as to what the problem can be? Am new to dozers but very mechanical. The PTO spins when engaged and clutch out. It sounds like you have two problems, one the engine and one the hydraulic system. When letting out clutch slight whining noise is heard around the trans. When in gear and releasing clutch, it jerks slightly and doesn't move. Tried all gears also reverse but does not move. ![]() All of a sudden the dozer stopped moving forward.
